A major change in the weather is expected in Maharashtra. The temperature has risen significantly in many parts of the state, and a heatwave is being experienced. In addition, there is a possibility of unseasonal rainfall in some areas. Particularly in Vidarbha and Marathwada, the increase in temperature and sudden changes in weather may pose a significant challenge to farmers.

Sharp Rise in Temperature:

Over the past few days, there has been a sharp rise in temperature across the state, with some districts experiencing temperatures as high as 40°C. The heat is causing major discomfort to the citizens, especially during the afternoon when they step outside. On March 20, the meteorological department has predicted a further increase in temperature.

Stormy Rain Alert:

According to the meteorological department, after March 19, unseasonal rains, strong winds, and hailstorms are expected across the state. Vidarbha is likely to experience the worst effects. Areas such as Nagpur, Chandrapur, Wardha, Gadchiroli, and Amravati in Vidarbha may experience stormy rain from March 20 to 22, with winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Concerns for Farmers:

The unseasonal rains and hailstorms have raised concerns among farmers. There is a fear of significant damage to seasonal crops, especially wheat, pomegranates, orchards, and other crops. Farmers are advised to remain alert and take precautionary measures to prevent potential losses.

The meteorological department has issued a warning for parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada, indicating the likelihood of stormy winds and hail after March 19. Additionally, the temperature is expected to rise further on March 20 in districts like Chandrapur, Wardha, Yavatmal, and Gadchiroli.
